Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at 9:00 AM Guidelines for a Successful Session

How does this work?
The ApertureExpert Live Training Sessions are broadcast using GoToWebinar. The room opens 15 minutes prior to start time.
What’s the attendance policy?
Attendance is limited to 100 people, but more than that can register. Registration will close when we hit 15% over capacity, as we’ll always have some no-shows, but we’d rather not over-book. Getting into the event is first-come, first-served based on ARRIVAL TO THE SESSION, NOT ON REGISTRATION DATE.
You have to register to attend, and if you wait too long registration may be closed, but a registration email does not guarantee a seat.
Again, the room will open 15 minutes prior the session start time. Get there early or you may be left out!
What do I need to attend?
Mac system requirements are OS X 10.4.11 (Tiger) or newer. PC (yes, you can watch a Mac webinar on a PC!) requirements are Windows 7, Vista, XP or 2003 Server.
You’ll want speakers or headphones to hear the show. You don’t need a microphone.
We broadcast at 1280x720 resolution, which will fit on any modern screen—even the MacBook Air.
In early tests, bandwidth under 5Mbit is usable but you will likely suffer audio and/or video dropouts. Anything over 5Mbit is just fine. If you don’t know your speed, you can test it on speedtest.net.
If you have low bandwidth, you should make sure nothing else is hogging space on your network. Pause local and cloud backups, disable MobileMe syncing, and if you can connect via ethernet instead of WiFi, you’ll get a little bit more speed. And don’t forget about other computers in the house that might be sharing your bandwidth! This only applies if you have low bandwidth or are suffering dropouts.
Then what?
Really, there’s not much to it. Click on the link in your confirmation email up to 15 minutes before start time, and you’ll enter a “waiting room” before the Live Training begins. Once it begins, you’ll see the ApertureExpert’s screen on your screen, and you’ll have a GoToMeeting control panel where you can post questions and read any text chats we send out. Some sessions may have polls or surveys come up during or after the training—please participate!
What’s the event schedule?
30 minutes of lesson, followed by 15 minutes of Q&A.
How do I participate in the Q&A?
If you would like to pose a question for the Q&A session, post it in the chat box in the GoToMeeting control panel. The best questions will be assembled for the final Q&A session. We can’t get to all of the questions in 15 minutes, but will answer as many as possible. If your question doesn’t get addressed, please post it in the ApertureExpert User Forum afterwards. We reserve the right to reformat questions to be easier to understand, or to combine multiple similar questions into a single one. If the Q&A administrators need clarification on a question you post, they will interact with you through the control panel.
Enjoy the show!
