Mac OS X Lion 10.7.1 Released

The first update to the latest big cat is out! Not very many fixes mentioned, and it’s an incredibly light download at just 17.4 MB, and nothing specific to Aperture users listed, BUT of course we want to know if this changes anything for us photographers!

Biggest outstanding known issue I can think of is the inability for Aperture to hold onto master files on a NAS. This isn’t a recommended workflow to begin with (I’ve written about it before) but it broke hard in 10.7. Hopefully that’s been fixed in 10.7.1. Let us know what you find!

Run Software Update to get it (curious, it doesn’t show up as an update in the App Store… I’d been wondering how this was going to work!). If you want to read the full details, head to the Apple Knowledge Base at support.apple.com/kb/HT4764.

Any comments on the 10.7.1 update, please post them on the dedicated ApertureExpert Lion page. I’ll be closing comments on this post; please direct your thoughts there.

(If you have been waiting for the first update to upgrade to Lion, please use this link to buy… it puts a few more nickels in the ApertureExpert coffer—thanks!)
