Q: What does it cost me?
A: Nothing! You earn money, not spend it.
Q: Do I have to store, ship, sort or count anything?
A: Nope! It’s an all-digital workflow. You put a link on your site, and that’s the last you have to deal with it (of course you can continue to promote it through twitter, your blog, or anything you like). But when someone makes a purchase, there’s absolutely nothing for you to do except get paid. And count your money. So yes, I guess you do have to count something!
Q: When, and how, do I get paid?
A: Once per quarter. Everything is handled via Paypal, so you’ll need an account there to set this up.
Q: Does it matter where in the world I live?
A: As far as I know, as long as you can have a Paypal account, you can set up as an affiliate. If Paypal doesn’t play in your country, I’m sorry but there’s not much I can do about it.
Q: How do I get started?
A: Just click the sign up link and follow the instructions. You’ll be taken to the e-junkie.com site, which is the company that handles all sales and delivery for ApertureExpert.com. Once you’ve signed up and activated your account, you’ll be able to choose what products you want to promote, and grab the URLs from there.
Q: How do I know how much money I’m making?
A: Once you have your e-junkie account set up, you can log in at any time at www.e-junkie.com to check sales.
Q: Anything caveats?
A: Yes… you can’t sign up just to get a 15% discount on the items you want to buy. If you sign up, and the only sales I see are your own purchases, you won’t get the 15% back.
I signed up… Now What?
Now the fun part! Log into your e-junkie account and click on the Affiliates tab at the top, then affiliate admin, and finally Get Affiliate Code.
That’ll bring you to this page. If you are an affiliate for any other merchant accounts, you’ll see those listed here. Select “Joseph Linaschke Photography – ApertureExpert.com” and click Get Affiliate Code. (Notice this is also where you can come back to View Sales later on.)
That will load a page with two options. The first option, Get Common Affiliate Hop Link, is the code that you can copy and paste into your site to send people to the ApertureExpert.com/store site itself. It’s not product specific, so once they go there from your link, anything they buy, you’ll get credit for. This is the easiest thing to do as it’s just a single link to put on your site.
The second option, Get Product Specific Affiliate Links, allows you to link to a specific product. So if you’re building your own store, or writing about a specific product, and want to include a link to that exact product in your site, then select the product you want from the drop-down menu, and click Get Affiliate Code.
That will take you to this next page, where once again, you have two options. The first is the Hop Link Code, which will take your reader to this site again, but directly to the product in discussion. Don’t worry, even if they buy something else on this site, as long a they got here from your link, you’ll make your commission on every sale. The Direct Sale Button Code will actually pop open an e-junkie sales cart right from your site. Feel free to include both codes on your site as well—one that says something like “read more about this product on ApertureExpert.com” and one that says “Buy now!”. That’s entirely up to you.
It may sound a little more complicated than it is… just follow the instruction, copy and paste some code, and you’re on your way to earning 15%!
